Our Bayside Running Analysis reduces your risk of sports injury and improves running performance.
At Seaview Health Group we can help improve performance and reduce your risk of injury by assessing the way you walk or run to highlight biomechanical abnormalities. Your initial consultation will include a biomechanical assessment, video analysis of your running gait and a strength and exercise program.
HOW WILL A RUNNING ANALYSIS HELP ME?
Running technique can vary greatly and like any other sport, such as golf and cycling, coaching and exercise advice can be just as beneficial. If you are thinking about taking up running or are about to start training for a long distance ‘fun run’, you are likely to benefit from a running analysis to reduce your risk of injury, improve performance and to ensure that you continue to find running enjoyable.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A RUNNING ANALYSIS?
A running analysis can benefit anyone from the occasional runner to the high performance athlete. Many injuries are often caused by poor biomechanics. Shin splints, plantar fasciitis, ITB syndrome, patella and achillies tendonitis are all common injuries associated with poor running technique. We can identify the areas that are impacting on your performance and provide advice and a solution to help you reach your goals.
WHAT DOES A RUNNING ANALYSIS INVOLVE?
The Running Analysis takes about an hour. During this session we will start with a biomechanical assessment, looking at how you move and identify any areas which lack flexibility or are weak. Following the biomechanical screen, we will take a video of your running technique on the treadmill. This allows us to identify any dysfunctions and to make modifications to your technique, which will help minimise your risk of injury and improve your performance. At the end of the appointment we will provide you with some strength exercises and easy to follow training tips to help introduce the recommended changes to your running technique.
